As the coronavirus pandemic rages on, everyone’s vacation plans are changing, including those of the British Royal Family.
Kate Middleton’s mother Carole has revealed just how different their Christmas family reunion with her three royal grandchildren – Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5 and Prince Louis, 2 – will be this year.
“We may not be able to get together but, after a year like 2020, we have to remember what’s really important this Christmas,” Carole, 65, wrote in an article for her company Party Pieces.
“For me, what really matters is that my family feels connected. Normally I let my grandchildren help me decorate the tree. This year, I will ask them by video call to decide which decoration should go where. It may need to be tastefully rearranged later, ”she continued.

“Keeping our Christmas lines has given me a bit of joy and escape, and I hope they help you feel the same,” Carole added.
She also has a 2 year old grandson, Arthur, through her youngest daughter, Pippa Middleton.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will also be spending Christmas apart from the royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to Los Angeles in March and will remain in the United States during the holiday season instead of returning to the United Kingdom.
Currently, the UK is in the midst of a semi-lockdown due to recent spikes in COVID-19 cases. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said it will last until December 2 to prevent hospitals from becoming overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients within weeks.
Under the new restrictions, bars and restaurants can only offer take-out, non-essential stores must close, and people will only be able to leave their homes for a short list of reasons, including exercise. Barber shops, gymnasiums, golf courses, swimming pools and bowling alleys are among the sites that must close and vacations abroad are prohibited.

Unlike the UK’s first three-month coronavirus lockdown earlier this year, schools, universities, construction sites and manufacturing companies will remain open.
Britain has the worst death toll from the virus in Europe, with more than 50,000 dead on Thursday and a total of 1.2 million confirmed cases of the coronavirus.
