Another Mainer has died as health officials reported 207 new cases of the coronavirus statewide on Thursday.

Thursday’s report brings the total number of coronavirus cases in Maine to 8,395. Of these, 7,517 were confirmed positive, while 878 were classified as “probable cases,” according to the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

The agency revised Wednesday’s cumulative total to 8,188 from 8,202, meaning there was a net increase of 193 from the previous day’s report, state data showed. As the Maine CDC continues to investigate previously reported cases, it is determined that some are not cases of coronavirus or coronavirus not involving Mainers. These are removed from the state running total. The Bangor Daily News reports the number of new cases reported to the Maine CDC in the past 24 hours, rather than the increase in daily cumulative cases.
