EUGENE – Defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux and cornerback Mykael Wright lead five Oregon players to receive the All-Pac-12 from conference coaches.
Thibodeaux and Wright were named all-Pac-12 first team, center Alex Forsyth and cornerback Deommodore Lenoir were named second team, and linebacker Noah Sewell was named conference defensive freshman of the year.
Thibodeaux had 32 tackles with 7.5 for the loss including three sacks and was named MVP of the Pac-12 Championship Game. In his first year as a starter, Wright made 22 tackles with eight breakage passes.
Lenoir has 24 tackles with an interception and a forced fumble.
Sewell leads all of the Pac-12 freshmen in tackles (38) and tackles for loss (five). He is one of two UO freshmen since 200 to have double-digit tackles and at least two loss tackles in a game, tying Troy Dye.
This is the second year in a row that a duck has won the title of Defensive Rookie of the Year, with Thibodeaux winning it last year.
