The deceased, beloved Peril! Host Alex Trebek has a Thanksgiving message for America: “Keep the faith. We will go through it all and we will be a better society because of it.

The game show tweeted a snippet of today’s vacation Peril! the Trebek episode recorded before his death from pancreatic cancer on November 8.

Speaking directly to viewers, as was his end-of-series custom, Trebek, his voice noticeably hoarse and without specifically mentioning the Covid-19 pandemic, said, “Happy Thanksgiving ladies and gentlemen. You know, despite what America and the rest of the world are going through right now, there is a lot to be thankful for. There are more and more people reaching out to show kindness to their neighbors, and that’s a good thing. Keep the faith. We’re going to go through it all and we’re going to be a better sodality because of it.

In a touching message accompanying the tweeted video, the Jeopardy account notes, “Top of our list of things to be thankful for this year: Alex’s Thanksgiving message from today’s show. We hope you have a safe and happy Thanksgiving! “

Jeopardy producers said Trebek recorded 35 Peril! episodes in the weeks leading up to his death, which should allow new episodes hosted by Trebek to remain airing until Christmas.
