Kelly Oubre shuts down, crosses return and Warriors beat Knicks – The Athletic

Here are five observations of the Warriors’ 114-106 victory in New York on Tuesday night, dropping them to 17-15 this season.

1. The end of Kelly Oubre

You can deliver a good 42 minutes and watch your work melt into the last eight. It happened to the Warriors in Orlando. You can hit a double-digit lead in 44 minutes and lose it all in the last four. The Warriors had done that to Charlotte.

All of the positives that led to the Warriors’ late advance in New York would only remain relevant if they closed in the final 60 seconds, up three. Another lost lead would have turned this road trip from disappointment to disaster.

That’s what makes Kelly Oubre Jr.’s next streak perhaps the most important of his first season with the Warriors.
