Kena: Bridge of Spirits will be released digitally for PlayStation 5 and PS4 tomorrow, but if you’d rather launch the game on disc and have some plastic to display on your shelf, it’s been confirmed that a physical version will release in November. It will be provided in conjunction with Maximum Games as a Deluxe Edition which packs the game with the soundtrack and exclusive physical and digital items for $ 49.99. Pre-orders are underway on the Maximum Games online store but the physical version will also be available for purchase from regular resellers when it launches.
California studio Ember Lab had officially announced that it would look into rolling out physical versions after digital launch, and we now know to expect them two months later. In a press release, COO Josh Grier said, “Our community has expressed their desire for a physical edition from the moment we first announced the game. It’s an honor to create a game that people want to add to their collections, and we’re excited to partner with Maximum Games to make it happen so quickly after initial launch. “
And for those who play on PS5 – both digitally tomorrow and physically in November – there are plenty of features that take advantage of the current generation system. Activity cards will be fully supported alongside over 200 game help videos, and two modes let you prioritize visuals or frame rate. The quality mode is supposed to be locked at 30fps with native 4K resolution, while the default performance mode operates at 60fps with upscaled 4K output.
We are playing Kena: Bridge of Spirits for review at time of writing, and we will deliver our written verdict as soon as possible. Are you buying the game digitally or are you waiting for this physical version? Share your decision in the comments below.
