COUNTDOWN OF ASABA CAA 2018

The golden girl of the athletics of Nigeria, Blessing Okagbare and others Team members Nigeria 4 × 200 foursome who won gold at the 2016 IAAF World Relay in the Bahamas will be inducted into the African Confederation of Athletics Hall of Fame (CAA) ).

This award will be presented at the Welcome Dinner for athletes and officials participating in the 21st African Athletics Championships, Asaba 2018.
The event, organized by CAA and Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency is planned for 5 pm on July 31, 2018 at the Events Center, Asaba.

State Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, President of IAAF Sebastian Coe, CAA President and members of its executive committee, senior officials of the federal and state governments, diplomats and the COL led by its president, Solomon Ogba, honored the occasion.

Other team members Dominique Duncan, Regina George, Christy Udoh, Olusoji Fasuba and Tosin Oke are the two other Nigerians who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

It will not be an entirely Nigerian affair. The Olympic Games and Ethiopia's Tirunesh Dibaba World Champion will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, as will fellow countryman Mesert Defar, who also won medals at the 19459012 Olympic Games and the World Championships.

Other Ethiopians on the list: Genzebe Dibaba Almaz Ayana, world champion and world champion, and Kendnisa Bekele, legend of road races, marathon and world record holder.

Duo of Caster Semanya and Wayde van Nieckert, Olympic Champions and World Champions.
Also on the list are the Kenyan trio of Vivian Cherivyot, the 800m king David Rudisha and Ezekiel Kemboi.
