Three people were arrested Tuesday in Murang & ari to be accused of stealing HIV test kits worth 3 million shillings.
Sophia Kinya, William Muhora and James Wairiuko were accused of stealing 32,400 kits from Murang District's hospital between May 16 and July 13.
The suspects are employees of the county government and are among eight staff members who made statements after the kits went missing on Saturday.
Anthony Mwichigi and each was released on Sh1 million bonds or Sh200,000 on bail
The case will be heard on August 2.
The hospital management discovered that the kits were missing after the Kirinyaga County government asked for help.
The director of health, James Gitau, stated that there was no document indicating how the kits had been disbursed.
He said that he suspected the lot was part of a cartel behind the ospital robbery.
