Homeboyz beat Mwamba 19-12 to win the Top Fry Prinsloo Sevens, the first round of the Sevens National Circuit of Stanbic Bank at Nakuru Athletic Club yesterday.

Bush Mwale scored an opportunistic try to give Homeboyz advance, Michael Wanjala converting to give seven points to the deejays. Alvin Otieno added a second try, Wanjala's conversion putting more distance between them and Mwamba.

Daniel Taabu ran to the test line, his five pointer signaling a response from Mwamba before half-time.

Mark Wandetto scored a third try deejays to see them go 19-5. Joel Inzuga snuck onto a free ball and scored a second try for Mwamba, Taabu converted but it was too little too late

Impala secured third place with a 12-10 win on KCB. Shaban Ahmed put KCB forward with an unconverted trial. Sammy Motari is hurt by scoring the Impala EQ, converting Mark Kwemoi giving Sarries two points. Sam Asati then set up Shaban for KCB's second try for a 10-7 lead at halftime. Impala asked questions of KCB and got his reward when Paul Mutsami stopped at the end of the match to get the result and third place.

Quins scored in sudden death to finish in fifth place after defeating Top Fry Nakuru 22-17. Gramwell Bunyasi broke the stalemate, Geoff Ominde converted for a Nakuru lead. Quins responded with a try of Mike Ochieng at the end of the half while Nakuru led 7-5. Chrisant Ojwang extended Nakuru 's lead with one unconverted after the interval but Ochieng scored a converted try to level the score. Don Aluoch and Ochieng exchanged tests with the teams tied 17-17.

Blak Blad defeated Kisumu 22-7 to win 13th place finish. Mean Machine went ahead of Strathmore Leos 21-14 to win the Challenge Trophy. – KRU
