On July 27, at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, there were tragedies after representatives of the entertainment regulator BASATA prevented Diamond Platinumz from leaving the country for a show. Co.ke learned that Diamond, who had arrived at the airport, was ready to take the plane to an unknown destination because a show had been stopped for lack of relevant permits issued by the nonsense body.
Onesmo added that BASATA had established rules which stipulate that all Tanzanian artists should obtain permits from the body before flying to their shows.
He went on to reveal that artists were supposed to report to them on their international performances.
"This is not a new one.The artists are supposed to get us authorizations before flying off for shows.It's to make sure they stay there. in safety and that their rights are protected even when they fly away.We also do this to officially say goodbye to them and give them our flag when they go out, "he said.
According to Onesmo, BASATA decided to start with Diamond so that other artists could understand how serious the body was.
