She answered a few questions from TshisaLIVE about her new role and how she feels when she receives praise from her country.

How do you feel now that you can share this good news?

I feel good! I am excited … we are all. I am aware of it for almost a year, so I am happy not to have to tell my brother to delete his posts on social networks! Haha!

How did you feel when you discovered the role?

Rather well, but I think the excitement has increased over time. The role was planned for an episode with the opportunity to reappear, so he gradually insinuated it as they continued to add me to other episodes.

South Africa is proud of you – how does that make you feel?

The happy nerves. I have argued that the majority of my favorite actors and actresses are South African and I am so excited for the opportunity to get more of our work on the scene.

What does it mean for you to share your art in a production like OITNB?

My role, although recurrent, is really there to propel the scenarios of the main characters. But I like the quote that there are no "little" roles, and I have brought everything that I have and all that I have learned from the house at this job.

Phumzile will play the role of Antoinetta & # 39; Akers & # 39; Kerson and will appear in nine episodes premiered on July 27.

Here at home, we are super proud of her!

She even had a shout from the Minister of Arts, Nathi Mthethwa
