Grace Anigbata, one of the athletes who will represent Nigeria at the upcoming African Confederation of Athletics (CAA) Championship, says she will make the Nigeria proud of the competition.
"Asaba 2018" is scheduled from August 1 to August 5 at Stephen Keshi stadium, Asaba, Delta, with no less than 42 participating countries.
Anigbata, a 20-year-old triple and high jumper, said Tuesday in Lagos that she was happy to represent the country at the continental championships.
"I am super excited, I thank God and my country for giving me such an opportunity."

Why she liked the high jump, the athlete said: "The high jump is an interesting event; people think it is difficult, but it is not the case.
"When you start training for the high jump, it does not help you; As a jumper in height when you cross the top of your jump, no height can be a problem for you.
"It's just to tell your mind that you can do that."
The athlete who began his 2014 career, said his target for the high jump was to set a new personal best. (NAN)
