Paul Pogba and Neymar and Philippe Coutinho could miss the semi-finals by suspension

The quarter-finals of the World Cup start Friday, but for some players an appearance in the semifinals could be cruelly withdrawn.

The yellow cards are only cleared after the quarterfinals. The tournament of the next match will be eliminated from a potential semi-final

France has four players on a single booking, including Paul Pogba, right-back Benjamin Pavard and striker Olivier Giroud. Uruguay, however, has only Rodrigo Bentancur.

The winners of the meeting between Belgium and Brazil could be without name. The tournament favorites Brazil has three players on a yellow, including Philippe Coutinho and Neymar, while the Red Devils rely on Kevin De Bruyne, Thomas Meunier and Jan Vertonghen among their five players.

Henderson, Jesse Lingard and Kyle Walker walk on a tightrope. For Sweden, Viktor Claesson and Albin Ekdal could be eliminated from a potential semifinal.

This is the fourth quarter-final which is by far the most menacing, with eight players from Croatia and five from Russia already having a warning. Mario Mandzukic, Ivan Rakitic, Ante Rebic and Sime Vrsaljko would each represent a serious defeat or Croatia, while Russia would worry about the availability of Aleksandr Golovin and Ilya Kutepov.

Any expelled player would also be excluded from the next match.

Brazil will be without Casemiro against Belgium due to suspension, while Mikael Lustig will be absent for Sweden
