It will take a lot to appease some Star Wars fans
A substantial and highly vocal section of the dedicated fandom has made it very clear how unhappy they are with some aspects of episode 8.

The new official version of Gary Whitta shows that Luke actually slipped and stumbled on some pebbles, which brought him to the ground. It was that superior power and skill of Rey that made him fall.
Although this somewhat contradicts the effect of "Mary Su," he unfortunately still presents Luke as a Jedi who is no longer in control of his environment. Stable foot, no longer a great Jedi warrior.

Did Disney listen to the fans? Is it a small attempt to clarify that Rey is not a ridiculously unrealistic "Mary Sue" perfect who is good at everything without trying and because it suits the plot?
