The UCA women's pair pair of Zainah Lokwameri and Sarah Ageno as well as JKL duo Ritah Imanishimwe and Jamila Nansikombi also pbaded. one of the favorites, the team played three defeats of as many games on the first day. They fell in DR Congo, Madagascar and Egypt to complete the round robin.
However, the competition format in the women's category gave Uganda a chance to repair its faults, as the four teams had to play playoff (1st vs. 4th and 2nd v 3rd) after the round robin , with the winner of each match qualifying directly, and the losers playing another game whose winner also qualifies.
