WIMBLEDON – With the light fading on the center court, Rafael Nadal crossed the net and kissed Juan Martin del Potro as the crowd gave a standing ovation to both players
. Four hours earlier, defending champion Roger Federer sank in a five-set duel against Kevin Anderson. But World No. 1 Nadal and No. 4 Del Potro served today's match – and perhaps championships – as the Spaniard advanced to set up a semifinal event against Novak Djokovic.

Del Potro then said: "I loved the game today, the crowd was amazing, they were delighted to continue to watch tennis between Rafa and I. We have a lot [ran] I think we did a good game, [had a] good game.
And on what they said at their hug to late, the Argentine added: "Nice words of both. We have a lot of respect for each other. Rafa is a great champion. "
