Kevin Hart's wife confirms that he is awake and convalescing after the accident of a horror car

Kevin Hart's wife revealed that he was awake and recovering after a horrific car accident left him in surgery.

The Hollywood star was seriously injured on the back when her classic car left the road and crashed into a ditch in the early hours of Sunday.

Kevin would have been so injured in the accident that he should have been operated on.

But his wife, Eniko Hart, told TMZ that he was awake and that he "would be fine".

She says that her husband is recovering well after the operation.

The 40-year-old actor was a passenger in his very powerful Plymouth Barracuda when he left the road on the Mulholland Highway in the hills of Malibu, California.

The rare vehicle was found in a ditch about 10 feet from the winding road after being crushed through a wooden fence.

Kevin was not driving at the time of the accident and his driver, also injured, was not drinking.

The photos show the devastating damage to Kevin's car, a 720 hp muscle car, nicknamed Threat.

The roof of the vehicle appeared to be completely damaged or missing and the bodywork had been badly damaged.

The front wheels also seemed to be hanging.

It is said that it is a miracle that Kevin and the other two people in the car survived the collision, which occurred shortly before 1 am Sunday.

Police confirmed that the vehicle belonged to the actor Ride Along and that the driver and he had both sustained "significant back injuries" as a result of the accident.

The third person on board the car was a woman who did not need to be hospitalized.

Witnesses testified that Kevin was the first to get out of the car and that a member of his security team was on board a SUV to pick him up.

He went home to see a doctor before going to the hospital at a later date.
