Knicks second-round pick appears in front of James Dolan

LAS VEGAS – With owner James Dolan on hand incognito in a white baseball cap, Knicks new second-round pick Miles McBride put on the show.

McBride scored 22 points, making his six 3-pointers, as the Knicks beat the Lakers 91-82 in a summer championship game at the Thomas & Mack Center.

McBride, selected 36th in West Virginia, shot 7 of 9 from the field overall. McBride missed all four of his 3-pointers in the Summer League opener, but has since scored 8 of 9 in the last two outings.

“It’s just about pulling into the flow of the game,” McBride said. “The first game, I rushed a lot of shots. I watched the game with the coaches and tried to understand the game better and find where the best shots are. That’s what I did today. ”

McBride played a lot with the ball with Immanuel Quickley leading the point. Quickley scored 25 points after coming out of 32 points in the previous game.

But McBride will fight for game time if this continues.

“He’s a very good player,” said Summer League coach Dice Yoshimoto. “He spends a lot of time in the gym. It showed up today. He shot really well in college and he puts his time there. It starts first with his defensive tenacity. He can play on the ball, outside the ball. ”

Dolan was seated near midfield next to William Wesley, Leon Rose and Tom Thibodeau. He must have been happy to see his 2020 lottery pick Obi Toppin continue to shine adding 17 points and 11 rebounds.

With Luca Vildoza – signed from the Spanish League – with a sore foot, Lithuanian southpaw Rokas Jokubaitis came off the bench to score eight points in the first half – drilling 2 of 3 3 points. Jokubaitis did not play in the second half.
