Rumors circulating today following a week-long press release suggest that Japanese entertainment conglomerate Konami has shut down its video game division. Konami assures us that it is not.
In one January 15 press release the Japanese company announced the dissolution of its three production divisions, as well as staff changes for employees previously in charge of production departments. What happens in this announcement, according to an official statement made to Kotaku by Konami, is just a consolidation of departments.
The statement reads: “The announcement refers to an internal restructuring, with the consolidation of the production divisions. We haven’t closed our video game division. “
So no worries, Konami will continue to do this PSE soccer game and everything he’s doing these days. Yu Gi Oh and things like that.
