[삶의 향기] Persona, embracing the personality of a mask

The most interesting terms for studying psychology were "persona" and "shadow". Personas are an outward – looking person, so they can play and dress anyway. You can pretend to be nice, or you can pretend not to be sad. However, since shadow is the dark part of the interior that is formed by painful wounds inside us, "acting" is impossible. It is also a psychological injury that we can not change as the inner limb of the body. All the unpleasant emotions we want to hide are sinking into the inner shadow. The relationship between the ego and the shadow is similar to the relationship between light and shadow, and whenever Ego triggers an outstanding performance, the shadow becomes thicker and darker . Whenever I act cheerfully, I have the shadow of a regret: "Oh, I am not such a person". While I act as if I had forgotten the trauma, the shadows of deep sadness that is deep down are piled up in thick layers of unconsciousness.

Jung's psychology suggests "reconciliation" with shadows, not "elimination" of shadows. When complexes and trauma can finally be loved, even when the shadows embrace as a part of me, a real personalization begins. However, while studying the relationship between the person, the shadow, and the ego (self) and the self, there was a question that was not solved in the book . Is the character indisputable and is the shadow honest? Is the character just a good performer? Is Ego a conscious and outgoing negotiator? Persona also has a certain degree of "ness", not only the ego but also the consciousness, but I do not know if the deep desire in me is like a magma that expresses itself on the outside . In addition, it was felt that it was "reconciliation with the shadow". How can I embrace and reconcile my inner darkness, which I do not want to admit, even my own negative aspects?

Amidst these disorders, i have received a letter from the reader. At a conference on the theme "Creative coexistence of paper books, ebooks and audio books" at the Seoul International Book Fair, what we absorb through the books is not just the knowledge, but also the emotions and the atmosphere. The same thing "Beyond reason" was the story. Some readers took the most impressive sentence of my clbad and sent it to me on a postcard. "Maybe everything is a question of emotion (rather than reason)." By the way, I remember the phrase that I wrote as the most important sentence for someone. "You are too emotional" was a long – standing trauma from someone else 's point of view, and the reader even saved that dark shadow. For me, being a trauma became "a precious shadow to hug" for others, and it was the feeling that the wound inside of me was healed. I was reconciled with my shadow without even knowing it.

I do not hate my emotional side anymore. Now I know. Feeling, being moved and crying a lot is not a complex, but a talent that can make life richer. We should not give up trying to find a true self for the rest of our lives. The psychologist Jung called the process of becoming oneself "individualized," and Kenji Yoshino, who wrote "cover," describes it as a "task of authenticity." Now, I decided not to hate my personality, my character. The personas are the guardians and brave warriors who protect themselves deep in my heart. I have to take off my mask and I want to become a person even if I am not a real person. I want to live a life that is faithful to me, not even a masked person, even masked, who pretends to be a masquerade.
