The late director Kim Ki-young, the most original stylist in the history of Korean cinema, will open next month.
CGV Art House announced on January 31st that it has been selected to direct the "Korean Film, Dedication Project" this year. As a result, on November 15, the Cine library of CGV Myeongdong will open the "Kim Ki Young Pavilion".
The Korean Film-Making Dedication Project is a project to highlight the achievements of Korean filmmakers who have elevated the status of Korean films. He opened the "Park Chan Wook Pavilion" in the mall.
Kim (1919 ~ 1998) is a master who created his own world of work with an original style, ranging from film scripts to music, accessories, art and posters. Park Chan-wook named Kim "the director who has had the greatest impact on me up to now in the bold and brave world of the working world". Martin Scorsesei also introduced Kim's "cleaning lady" as "a great movie to watch around the world".
"Kim Ki-young" is the representative work of the director, chronology and dedication of film critics. The Cinematheque & CGI Cine Library & # 39; also offers special screenings of Kim's film scripts and related books. CGV Art House plans to sponsor part of its revenue with Korean Independent Film on behalf of director Kim early next year.
The CGV Art House is organizing from March 15 to 28 a special exhibition entitled "Kim Ki-young Masterpiece – Anatomy of Desire" to commemorate the inauguration of "Kim Ki-young Hall".
