The Ministry of Unification announced that it would provide 50 tons of drugs for the prevention of pine blight in the Kaesong region, North Korea, to implement inter-Korean agreements such as the joint declaration of Pyongyang.
To this end, 15 officials, including government officials and forest experts, such as the Forest Policy Director of the Forest Service, will visit North Korea. In the afternoon, North and South will cooperate in the pine forest surrounding Wangan's royal tomb in Gaesong.
The two Koreas will also look at ways to modernize nurseries and the conservation and protection of forests in the north, as agreed in the year.
The Ministry of Unification explained that the medicine issued today is a medicinal agent used to prevent pine diseases and fight against the worms of pine bark, a material that does not fall under sanctions from the UN.
