The existence of a gigantic "ghost galaxy" hidden behind our galaxy has been revealed.

This galaxy, named Antlia 2 Ant 2, is a dwarf satellite galaxy formed at the beginning of the universe, but its size is similar to that of the largest "Magellanic Galaxy" (LMC) of satellite galaxies around our galaxy.

It is one-third the size of our galaxy, but its density is extremely low. The light is 10,000 times lighter than the CML. It is hidden behind the stars and gas curtains of the galactic disk.

The presence of the galaxy is confirmed by an international research team led by Dr. Gabriel Torreba, astronomer of the Central Research Institute of Taiwan, who badyzed for the first time the observations of the Gaia satellite from the US. European Space Agency (ESA) and published an online science journal, "Archives". arXiv).

To find new satellite galaxies, the researchers focused on the "RR-type harp variant" in the Gaia observations. These stars are bluish because they have a long life and a low metal content, which is only found in dwarf satellite galaxies such as Antlia 2.

Variable size RR type is extremely rare, but researchers found three of them at about 420,000 light-years away. Vasily Velocurobe, co-author of the Cambridge Astronomical Research Institute, said the stars are "overwhelming evidence" of the high density of the world around them.

The researchers were struggling to grab the stars of the variable Galaxy RR type star as they were covered with stars and gas clouds from our galaxy, but with over 100 red giants moving together they have kept a distance of more than 130 000 light-years from our galaxy. I confirmed the point.

The researchers confirmed that the mbad of Antelier 2 is 100 times smaller than the galaxy of the same size and much smaller.

The current pattern of galaxy formation does not explain the low mbad of the size of Antelier 2 and the fact that it is 10,000 times weaker than that of CML.

Sergei Koposov, an badociate professor of physics at Carnegie Mellon University, co-wrote the paper, explaining: "It's simply explained that Antlia 2 is now in such a low mbad (relative to its size) that it was swept away by the tidal forces of our Milky Way. "But if we lose mbad in our galaxy tactics, it is normal for size to decrease (like Antella 2)," he said.

Velocrove researchers also hypothesized that a galactic storm or supernova explosion was throwing gases and particles into the galaxy, and that the gravitational force that bound it was weakening, causing a dark matter extending outward and increasing the size of the galaxy.

In the academic world, the difference in size and brightness of the Antelier 2 and another 60 satellite galaxies is so remarkable that there is a growing consensus that an important part of the model of galaxy formation may be missing.

But to prove it, it is specified that only two cases of Antlia are missing and that more ghost galaxies should be discovered.
