Fine dust stocks, which have been clbadified as "scintillating stocks", are steadily increasing. The demand for masks and other related products is booming as super fine dust piles up yellow dust from China.
The Mona Lisa shares, which produce fine dust masks on the market on 27th, closed at 4,285 won, up 8.34% from the previous day. The share price has jumped more than 60% this month (November 1 to 27).
KC Cottrell, a specialist in desulphurization equipment, recorded a 4.39% increase over the previous day at 4,045 won, while another mask maker, Wellkron, realized a 3.13% increase at 3,300 won. Huvitz (2.75%), a manufacturer of ophthalmic diagnostic devices, also performed well due to the growing concern over fine dust eye diseases.
In the early days of the day, the concentration of fine dust was "bad" in most parts of the country and yellow dust from China in the western part, including Seoul, covered the sky. As a result, demand for fine dust protection products is expected to increase. A researcher at a brokerage firm said: "The interest in fine dust protection products is increasing as the dust season approaches fine dust."
The demand for clean household appliances is also increasing, as are the products for protection against fine dust. According to the free market auction, sales of fine dust appliances have risen 81% over the last month (from October 20 to November 19). During this period, sales of air purifiers increased by 127% and sales of sanitation equipment also more than doubled. As a result, the price of the manufacturer of air purifiers Winix has increased by more than 20%.
An auction manager said: "Even at the beginning of the winter, the concentration of fine dust is low and ecological appliances become a necessity for all seasons."
As interest in ultrafine dust intensified, the heating season, which was the peak season in winter, was slow. The boiler manufacturer Kyongdong Nabe was lower than the KOSPI (0.79%) by about 0.32%. The unique character of the company related to the gas boiler was only 0.42%.
