MK News – Toyota changes ownership in "share"

[ad_1]

Toyota will launch a new carpooling service that will allow customers to buy new cars if they pay a monthly fee starting next year. The Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported on February 2 that the age of vehicle ownership with the extension of the shared economy was coming to an end,

The car subscription service starts with the name "KINTO" at the beginning of next year. This is a car version of the "subscription service" that customers send a necessary amount every month.

For example, if a service subscriber is tired of driving a Camry sedan for a while, he returns it and receives a new car. Toyota said the price target for its vehicles and services remains undecided. First of all, we decided to decide the moment of expansion throughout Japan after a pilot test in Tokyo starting next January.
Toyota is the first Japanese manufacturer to launch such a service. Currently, European luxury car brands such as Porsche, Mercedes Benz and BMW charge a monthly subscription fee of 1.5 to 3 million won.

Toyota will also launch a vehicle sharing service. He plans to experiment in Tokyo this year and launch it seriously next year. It will use 40,000 vehicles in 5,000 Toyota stores across Japan. That equates to 23,000 vehicles owned by Park 24, the largest car sharing company in Japan.

Toyota's active commitment to subscription and vehicle sharing services is no longer the case with existing sales strategies.

While the trend of younger generations not to own cars accelerated, the Japanese new car market, which reached 7.8 million in 1990, dropped to 5.2 million units.

In contrast, subscribers to the car sharing service have begun to gain popularity, surpbading one million in less than five years. One common observation is that vehicle sharing will become easier and vehicle sales will decrease more quickly.

Toyota has also decided to integrate four sales channels (Toyota, Toyopet, Corolla and Nets) that have been maintained until now.

For example, Toyota's "Crown" mid-size sedan was sold in Toyo Pet, Corolla and Nets stores. The company plans to start selling all Toyota models from 2022 to 2025 nationwide.

Toyota has recalled more than one million vehicles worldwide due to flaws in the airbags, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday. The targeted vehicles are Cyan (US market · produced between 2004 and 2006), Isis, Avenues and Corolla (markets of Japan and Europe · 2002 ~ 2015).
