KPIX Robbed Crew, Security Guard Shot in Leg While Covering Story

A KPIX crew, reporter Joe Vazquez and videographer John Anglin, are ok after they have been robbed of their equipment while covering a story.

The suspect opened fire on their security guard. He was shot in the leg and transported to the hospital.

According to the station, the incident happened just before 5 pm on Sunday while the crew was covering teacher protests in Oakland.

A car with two men inside the van. One of the men pulled out a gun and asked for their equipment. After handing it over, the crew walked back to the van. One suspect exchanged gun shots with the security guard, who was shot in the upper leg.

Police eventually tracked down the suspects in a champagne-colored Lexus and arrested them.

The security guard is expected to be ok. He's listed in stable condition.
