Brooklyn nets investigate allegations of spousal abuse against Rodions Kurucs after the Brooklyn striker's arrest and bail without bail Tuesday.

Kurucs has been charged with manslaughter and is scheduled to appear in court on October 21.

According to the New York Daily News, citing police sources, Kurucs allegedly strangled his girlfriend at the time in his Brooklyn apartment on June 27.

"After reading the charges against Rodions Kurucs, we have informed the League office and we are assisting him as he begins the process of gathering additional information," said the Nets in a statement. According to the Daily News, Kurucs would have put his hand around the throat of his girlfriend at the time and strangled her before then pushing her on her bed, slapping her face and biting her lip. The report says that he then lifted her and threw her onto the bed, injuring her ribs.

Judge Gina Abadi issued a protection order and ordered Kurucs to stay away from the woman, reports the Daily News.

The Kurucs averaged 8.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game last season.
