Razer is the first company to have the GTX 1650 stuffed into a 13-inch laptop. Until now, this has been mostly relegated to the budget of 15-inch gaming laptops. It should offer a sound upgrade compared to the NVIDIA MX150 GPU in the latest model. During my brief demo, I was able to fly through Condemn in 1080p with high graphics settings and still get framerates beyond 60FPS. The extra power of the GTX 1650 means you can push those settings much higher. It should look more like a real gaming laptop, rather than an ultraportable with good graphics.
The Stealth Blade 13 base, featuring an eye-catching Mercury White finish, includes the next generation of Iris Plus graphics from 10th Gen Core processors. While I was playing Overwatch in 1080, I was able to get more than 60 FPS by setting the graphics to "Low". You can expect to run other 3D games with reduced graphics settings, but in reality, it's a GPU that's more geared to things like less demanding RTS titles. The Iris Plus model has a major advantage: up to 10 hours of autonomy. We do not know how the GTX 1650 models will behave in this respect, but you can expect a much lower figure.
Razer has stayed true to the basic design of the latest Stealth Blade: the new models still have thin edges, measure 15.3 millimeters in thickness and feature a large glass touch pad. This time though, each Blade Stealth model includes 16GB of DDR4 RAM, which I would recommend for any gaming laptop. You will get 256GB PCIe M.2 SSD storage with the white model (a healthy bump up front ) and 512 GB with GTX 1650 versions. And for screens, you can choose between 1080p matte displays with 100% sRGB accuracy or a 4K touchscreen covered with Gorilla Glass.
The Razer Blade Stealth 13 will start at $ 1,500 when it arrives at the end of September. It is unfortunate that this does not come before the start of the school season, but the specifications alone make it an intriguing option for students who want to play certain games.
