Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray said he would attend the NFL Combine next week, but he has not decided yet whether he would participate in one or the other. Other training, he told reporters Monday at the banquet of the Davey O Brien Awards.
The former Oklahoma star, however, tackled one of the most important issues before the Combine – its size – at 5 feet 10 inches.
"I've been a 5-10 screened in the first round – I mean, it's crazy for me, the fact that I'm already projected so high," Murray said. "I do not have more than 6 feet, I have not seen it since I was alive."
Although Murray said he had not determined the details of his participation in the Combined, Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley believes Murray's time in the 40-yard scorecard could be a revelation . Murray said it was "two, three years" since he was 40 in 4.3 seconds.
The 21-year-old, who was a Dallas-based championship high school quarterback, said he "did not look very good for the NFL" before his outstanding season with the Sooners. Murray's only university experience was a tough first year at Texas A & M.
