Kyrsten Sinema reprimanded by activists in ASU toilet

Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) was followed into the bathroom by a group of immigration activists who confronted her in her classroom while teaching at Arizona State University.

Video broadcasts the small group follows the senator down an ASU hallway and continues to scold her as she walks into a washroom.

Activists were targeting Sinema for his position on President Joe Biden’s $ 3.5 million Build American America infrastructure bill, which would pave the way for citizenship for many illegal immigrants.

The Arizona Democrat tells activists she has to leave, but they persist, following her into the women’s bathroom.

“We knocked on doors to get you elected. The way we got you elected, we can get you to resign if you don’t support what you promised us, ”one of the activists in Sinema said in the video recorded over the phone and viewed by nearly 2 million people. times on Twitter.

One of the activists, who identified herself as Blanca, told the senator that she was brought to the United States when she was three years old. She said her grandparents were deported in 2010 due to Arizona’s controversial SB1070 law, one of the toughest anti-immigration laws in the country.

“My grandfather passed away two weeks ago and I couldn’t go to Mexico because there is no path to citizenship,” she said.

“I’m here because I believe we need this path to citizenship,” she continued. “There are millions of undocumented migrants who share the same story or even worse. “

Sinema did not respond to the activists who chose to remain quiet in the closed stall.

On Saturday, Senator Kyrsten Sinema criticized the Democratic Party leadership for the House’s “inexcusable” failure to vote Friday on a bipartisan $ 1,000 billion public works bill.

Sinema joined many moderates who criticized the Democratic leaders’ decision to withdraw the bill from the prosecution on Friday in order to gain additional time to negotiate Biden’s $ 3.5 trillion social spending bill.

Days earlier, a group of activists on kayaks clashed with fellow moderate Democrats Joe Manchin on his yacht in Washington DC, who also opposed the massive infrastructure bill, foiling Democrats’ plans.
