LAKE COUNTY, Calif .– Due to an offshore weather system that could bring high winds on Monday, Pacific Gas and Electric Co. said it may have to cut power to 14,000 customers in 13 counties in northern California , including Lake County.
The company said its meteorologists continue to monitor a potential weather system that could bring dry winds offshore to parts of the company’s service area from Monday morning.
Due to the wind event, combined with extreme to exceptional drought and extremely dry vegetation, PG&E has started sending advance notifications to customers where it could implement a public safety power outage on Monday morning in some parts. from the North Coast and North Bay.
Closures in the northern Sierra foothills and in Kern County could begin Monday afternoon, depending on the timing of the wind event, PG&E said.
PG&E said it activated its emergency operations center on Friday to support the weather event.
PG&E said it informed 756 customers, including 65 Medical Baseline customers, in Lake County of the potential shutdown.
The Lake County customers expected to be affected are in areas north and east of Clearlake Oaks, east of Lower Lake, and south of Cobb and Middletown, as shown in the map above.
PG&E has estimated that electricity in these areas will be cut between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. and will be restored by 10 p.m. Monday.
Potentially affected customers in other countries are:
Butte County: 2,735 clients, 248 Medical Baseline clients;
Colusa County: 567 clients, 36 Medical Baseline clients;
Glenn County: 376 clients, 21 Medical Baseline clients;
Kern County: 674 clients, 35 Medical Baseline clients;
Mendocino County: 13 clients, 4 Medical Baseline clients;
Napa County: 1,584 clients, 70 Medical Baseline clients;
Santa Barbara County: 19 clients, 1 Medical Baseline client;
Shasta County: 3,166 clients, 294 Medical Baseline clients;
Solano County: 802 clients, 56 Medical Baseline clients;
Sonoma County: 1,241 clients, 47 Medical Baseline clients;
Tehama County: 2,270 clients, 177 Medical Baseline clients;
Yolo County: 20 clients, 0 Medical Baseline clients.
Affected customers and numbers could change as the company adjusts its plans based on conditions.

During a PSPS, PG&E provides support to clients by opening community resource centers with snacks, water and other essentials; partnering with community organizations to help clients with medical needs and independent living; and continue to inform our customers about the state of the food restoration.
Two community resource centers are planned in Lake County, one at Live Oaks Senior Center, 12502 Foothill Blvd, Clearlake Oaks, and the other at Twin Pine Casino and Hotel, 22223 Highway 29, Middletown.
Both centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.
They will provide blankets, snacks and water, device charging, ADA-accessible toilets and washing station, seating, small medical device charging and wifi.
