James Harden and Landry Shamet have a hilarious back and forth for the Brooklyn Nets number 13 jersey on Instagram.

One of the biggest concerns associated with James Harden’s trade with the Brooklyn Nets was whether or not he will have chemistry with his new teammates. After 8 years with a franchise, it would make sense for Harden to take the time to acclimate to new faces and a new environment.

It remains to be seen how much James Harden and the other two Nets superstars freeze together. However, it looks like Harden wastes no time getting to know the rest of his teammates.

Barely two days old in a Brooklyn uniform and Harden has already struck up a hilarious conversation with his teammate Landry Shamet on Instagram.

James Harden wears 13 on the back of his jersey since high school, when he was dating Artesia. He was No. 13 with OKC and then with the Houston Rockets as well.

However, now that he’s in Brooklyn, No.13 currently resides with former Clipper Landry Shamet. So to force Shamet to drop the number, Harden took to his Instagram story.

He wrote, “Landry Shamet, how much do you want for this number 13?” Shamet in turn responded by posting a photo of James Harden giving rapper Lil Baby gifts for his birthday.

Harden in turn hilariously said he’s looking for honey buns (slang for $ 100,000) and a Rolex, but maybe he should settle for cupcakes and an Apple Watch.

This is of course in reference to Harden offering Lil Baby Honey Buns and a Rolex on the latter’s birthday. Shams Charania broke the news on January 14e that James Haden would wear # 13 for the Nets. It was also announced that Shamet will be # 20. It remains to be seen whether Shamet will succumb to the slightly above-average bribe from James Harden.
