ANCHOR (KTUU) – The NBA pelicans in New Orleans hired former Anchorage champion Trajan Langdon as the team's general manager on Sunday.

"We are very excited to welcome Trajan and his family to the pelicans of New Orleans," said Gayle Benson, owner of pelicans, in a press release.

Since 2016, Langdon has been Deputy General Manager of the Brooklyn Nets, while serving as General Manager of the NBA G League affiliate Long Island Nets. Langdon was also recently named the NBA G League's Best Executive of the Year in 2018-19 after Long Island tied his best record in the NBA G League regular season.

During the 1990s, Langdon had a memorable basketball career at East High School, where he won three consecutive consecutive senior-level titles and participated in a McDonald's All-America match.

He then pursued his academic career at Duke University and was selected as a shooter in the NBA project. Langdon played for the Cleveland Cavaliers for three seasons before going abroad to play professionally in Russia and Europe.
