Last man standing hosts the most unlikely crossover of 2021, as Mike Baxter comes face to face with Tim Allen’s former alter ego, Home improvement‘s Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor.
Fox released the trailer for Last manninth and final season, which features the aforementioned meeting of the half-spirits. the Tool time the host appears in Mike’s kitchen wearing a vintage Binford Tools t-shirt and serves one of his signature grunts. The crossover takes place in the January 7 episode, titled “Dual Time,” when Vanessa hires a home improvement repairman who looks suspiciously like her husband.
The new images also clearly show that Last man integrates the coronavirus pandemic into its final episodes. Mike, Vanessa, Mandy, and Kyle all appear on a Zoom call with socially estranged friends and relatives (including Kaitlyn Dever’s Eve), and Mike shows off his pandemic beard during one of his iconic Outdoor Man vlogs.

In “Time Flies,” a series of time jumps find Mike and Vanessa with two new grandchildren as well as Mandy and Kyle living with them. Mike, accidentally / on purpose, is involved when Vanessa and Mandy argue over Vanessa’s “ helpfulness ”. Meanwhile at Outdoor Man, Chuck is desperately hoping for his last call to Ed’s mixology happy hour.

We all considered ending the show after latest season, but with Fox we decided to add a year so we could produce a full season to create a sweet and fun farewell. I can’t wait to have a memorable and hilarious final season.
Last man standing Season 9 kicks off on a special evening, Sunday January 3 at 8:30 a.m. / 7:30 a.m., before moving to its usual day and time – Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. – starting January 7.
