Sidney Powell changes court record that Georgia votes went from Biden to Trump

Sidney Powell’s Kraken needs an editor.

Despite being seconded from Trump’s legal team, Powell is moving forward with his election conspiracy crusade to overturn Joe Biden’s presidential victory.

But Kraken, self-proclaimed by the conservative lawyer, continues to tie his tentacles in a knot of typos and errors – including the recent backtrack claim, later edited, that a pernicious voting algorithm has taken hold. of Biden’s votes and sent them back to President Donald Trump.

Powell corrected the error later on Friday, citing CNBC as she explained the error to a federal appeals court, which she asks to decertify the results of Georgia’s presidential race.

The initial, confused post claimed in a file that “machine-controlled algorithms purposely run by Dominion Voting Systems … have typically taken over 2.5% of Mr. Biden’s votes and sent them back to Mr. Trump for More than 5% increase in fraudulent votes for Mr. Biden. “

That claim – that votes had been mishandled to Trump, which somehow resulted in a net increase in votes for Biden – was “Bassakwards,” Powell admitted in an email to CNBC.

“If I had a Nicole for every mistake I made in life, I could retire,” Powell’s email told a reporter. “I would have liked to have you as proofreader at 1 am”

In a subsequent filing to amend the brief, Powell explained that “the plaintiffs’ attorneys are a small team dealing with several important cases in four states.”

“In addition, the board had internet and computer issues that delayed our communications, in addition to what can only be called ‘operator errors’ by senior counsel late at night, which resulted in the omission of the source list and a substantive anomaly carefully identified by CNBC morning, which the concurrently filed brief corrects, ”Powell wrote.

“The Dominion machines reversed President Trump’s votes to Mr. Biden (not the other way around). These errors are corrected in the brief filed with this motion,” she wrote.

The error came on Friday in the opening paragraph of the case file for Powell and fellow attorney Lin Wood, who are asking a federal appeals court for an interim order overturning the results of Georgia’s presidential election. He is also asking the US 11th Circuit Court of Appeals to order Georgian officials to “keep all data on the national system” and allow “Republican voters to verify” this system in 10 counties.

The record claims “there were every conceivable variety of electoral fraud” in Peach State, which quickly became a hot political battleground ahead of two polls that will determine with party scrutiny the Senate.

Dominion, whose systems have been used in multiple states, denies claims about it made by Powell as well as by Trump and his campaign’s legal team, led by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Attorney General William Barr said this week that the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security “had seen nothing to substantiate” the voting machine conspiracies.

Powell had been involved in Trump’s legal team until shortly after her appearance at a press conference in late November alongside Giuliani and other lawyers, where she claimed Dominion was part of an international conspiracy to rigging of elections involving “communist money” from countries like Venezuela and Cuba. .

“Sidney Powell practices law alone. She is not a member of Trump’s legal team. Neither is she a lawyer for the President in her personal capacity,” Giuliani and lawyer Jenna Ellis said in a joint statement. .

But Powell, Wood and others have continued to pursue long-term lawsuits challenging election results in key states, while amplifying their conspiracy allegations outside the courts.

At a large in-person rally in Atlanta on Wednesday, Wood viciously attacked Republican Gov. of Georgia, Brian Kemp, and called out the GOP’s Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler to demand a special session of the state legislature.

“We are not going to vote on January 5 on another machine made by China!” Wood told the crowd, referring to that second-round date, where Perdue and Loeffler face challenges from Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, respectively.

“Why would you come back and vote in another rigged election? For God’s sake, fix it! You have to fix it before we do it again!” Wood said.

Other Republicans, including some members of Congress, have pushed back against this no-vote strategy and are urging residents to participate in the run-off election.
