Since the Reds appear to be focused on cutting payroll this winter, it could be argued that Castillo could be tied to a deal that would secure a bigger contract (i.e. Mike Moustakas, Nick castellanos) off the books, but that would seem like a terribly extreme move. One would imagine Castillo wouldn’t be traded unless the Reds completely got back on their way and are now looking to rebuild.
