If you’ve recently moved in on your own or if it’s your first time doing laundry on your own, there’s an app to help you out. In fact, ‘Laundry Lens’ can help you whenever you need to do your laundry. Here’s how.
Created by Brazilian developer Alan Pégoli, ‘Laundry Lens’ was launched a year ago and it is really easy to use. Just point your camera at the tag of the clothes you want to wash and it will tell you if you need to be careful when using the washing machine, ironing board, or drying it.
Thanks to a tweet from developer Ryan McLeod, I discovered ‘Laundry Lens’ and found it very useful.
Here is how Pegoli describes its application:
Lens laundry detergent is the perfect companion for laundry. Simply point your camera at a care label and you will receive the proper instructions on how to take care of your clothes and clothing. By swiping up, you can also manually search for laundry symbols and discover many more. Laundry Lens includes a comprehensive list of symbols, from washing to ironing, and even professional symbols, so you know exactly what kind of care your laundry needs.
You can also browse over 70 symbols or search by their descriptions. The app is available for iPads, has built-in shortcuts, and most importantly, it’s free and ad-free.
‘Laundry Lens’ requires iOS 14.1 or later and is available in English, Dutch, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish. You can download the app here on the App Store.
