ATLANTA – A social media post that has been shared thousands of times does nothing more than incite false fear, police say.
The post claims there is a serial killer roaming the streets of Atlanta who attacks and maims women.
“I saw the post on social media,” said resident Tometrick Hemmingway Channel 2 investigative reporter Ashli Lincoln. “It’s very disturbing, shocking, devastating to hear that something like this is happening in a park.”
The publication claims this suspected serial killer was responsible for the murder of Katie Janness and her dog Bowie in Piedmont Park last week.

He goes on to say that the murder of 18-year-old Tori Lang is somehow related. She was found shot dead last week in Yellow River Park in Gwinnett County.
The post also claims there was a third murder in Norcross, but police say this is not true.
Park visitors say the message is unnecessary and does nothing more than scare people away.
“I don’t want to have to come to the park for fear of losing my life or being stabbed,” Hemmingway said.
Gwinnett County Police say there is absolutely no connection between the Janness and Lang murders.
Janness’ friends and family gathered on Sunday night to remember her and joined some of the top officials in the Atlanta Police Department. Although they did not disclose any new details, they called for advice and patience in the matter.
“If you have any information, we ask that you contact us and call Crimestoppers, let us know what you have. We will act on your behalf, ”said Deputy Chief Darin Schierbaum.

“She was a wonderful spirit, and I don’t want her to be tainted with things you hear now, I want you to focus on the joy and love of Katie,” said one man who spoke. during the vigil.
