LAX Airport Terminal 5 evacuated after “reported bomb threat”

LAX airport was evacuated after a “suspicious vehicle” raised a security concern.

Travelers said they were evacuated from Terminal 5 early Friday morning.

Both levels of the terminal were evacuated and police and vehicles were present.

The airport itself confirmed that the traffic was being diverted “due to police activity”.

He asks travelers to allow extra time to get to the airport. Police are on hand to give instructions.

Reports are circulating that there is a bomb threat in the area, but this has not yet been confirmed.

Images from the scene showed masked travelers waiting outside the airport terminal.

Passengers were given the go-ahead just after 7 a.m. local time and were ordered to “resume normal operations.”

The airport confirmed it was evacuated after a “suspicious vehicle” raised security concerns.

A KTLA reporter at the scene said the vehicle was a limousine which was abandoned at the arrivals level.

Traffic diversions have also been concluded.
