Leak faster charge, new camera, more

With the Pixel 6 Launched in October, more details on Google’s next flagship phone have started to leak, including new information regarding much faster charge speeds.

Originally a rumor of 91mobiles claimed the Pixel 6 will support 33-watt wired charging after photos of 33-watt power bricks were reportedly captured at Google headquarters. But now this rumor has apparently been confirmed by XDA Developers, who spotted a deposit made in Taiwan CCN (Taiwan electronic regulator) which lists the Pixel 6 as supporting charging speeds of 15 watts, 18 watts, 27 watts, and 33 watts.

While that might not seem like a huge development, when you remember every up-to-date Pixel phone surpassed the 18-watt wired charging level, it’s nice to see the Pixel 6 dramatically boosting charging speeds.

Unfortunately, not all of this is good news because, Google having told Gizmodo and other media than the Pixel 5a is probably the last Pixel phone to come with a power brick included, future Pixel 6 owners might be required to purchase compatible 33-watt power adapters separately if they want to take full advantage of wired charging speeds improvements from the Pixel 6. For some, this can be a frustrating development, although Google claims that the choice not to ship an included AC adapter with its phones is meant to help cut down on electronic waste since the number of people who already have USB-C power bricks mean including power adapters has become somewhat unnecessary.

On the plus side, for anyone who prefers wireless charging, in a report last month, Android Police claims there will also be a new Pixel Stand for 2021 with 23 watt wireless charging, up from just 10 watts on the current model.

OPixel 6 rumors include mention of a new 50 MP main camera, and the use of not one but two ARM Cortex X1 cores in Google’s new Tensor chip, which is a notable departure from the single X1 core used in current mobile chips like Qualcomm Snapdragon 888.

But what could be the juiciest rumor comes in an update of @Evleaks, who claims a “trusted” source claims that Google’s foldable Pixel, codenamed Passport, will actually launch sometime this year. The source claims that Google has been working on Passport for over two years, and with new updates coming in Android 12.1 should include improved software for foldable phones, suddenly the idea of ​​a foldable Pixel in 2021 doesn’t seem so strange.
