Lee Frederick Yerty, 68, Roaring Spring, died Thursday in Lincoln, Neb., After a battle with COVID-19 while on vacation out west with his girlfriend.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Donald Eugene and Margaret Romaine (Ritchey) Yerty. He was previously married to Pauline (Replogle) Ceprish from Bellefonte.

Three children survive: Jessica Brubaker of Altoona, Tonya Yerty and her husband, Frank Zgoda, of Bellefonte and Kyle Yerty and his wife, Emily, of Hanover, Maryland; five grandchildren: Cayden Brubaker, Corinne Zgoda, Jocelyn Zgoda, Brynn Yerty and Ari Yerty; and his 16-year-old girlfriend, Eileen Mulligan of Duncansville.

Lee was a 1971 graduate of Central High School and served in the National Guard from 1971 to 1978. He owned and operated Lee F. Yerty Insurance in Roaring Spring for over

30 years.

He enjoyed playing golf, driving his Harley Davidson, and traveling with Eileen. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and from 6 to

8 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Todd T. Thompson Inc. Funeral Home, Roaring Spring. A funeral service will be held at

11 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Roaring Spring. The family asks those present at the visit and at the service to wear a mask.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations in Lee’s memory to go to the American Red Cross or a charity of their choice.
