GENERAL STATEMENT OF OBLIGATIONS Performs technical work in the coordination, maintenance, support and operation of county telecommunications computer systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Considerable knowledge of computers and networking systems; and their applications and limitations.
• Considerable knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of information systems and computers and related peripheral equipment.
• Considerable knowledge of computer technology, hardware and software applications, and troubleshooting issues in a variety of computer programs.
• Considerable knowledge of IT operations, methods and techniques.
• Ability to detect and correct system failures and report programming failures.
• Ability to follow oral and written technical instructions.
• Ability to train and coordinate user departments and IT operations staff.
• Ability to understand and explain language and technical computer manuals.
• Ability to analyze technical data and write clear and concise operating instructions.
• Ability to determine the source and causes of IT operational problems and obtain the necessary resources to correct them.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, managers, suppliers, IT professionals and the general public.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Willingness to keep abreast of rapid developments in computer technology.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in the use of computer and computing resources. Preferred: Associate degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution or two-year college degree with a major in information processing, data processing, computer operations or related field and considerable experience as an IT operator, data processing specialist or coordinating computer; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
