LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A barricade situation that started early Friday night ended peacefully around 12:49 a.m., Lexington Police said.
Police say they received a call at 5:56 p.m. from a family who told officers that a family member was having some sort of mental health crisis, that he was home alone and that there was maybe guns in the house.
The house is in the 2300 block of Woodfield Circle. Police say they have set up a perimeter. Neighbors were either voluntarily evacuated or sheltered in place as a precaution, according to police.
When officers were unable to contact the man in the house, the Lexington Police Department’s Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and Crisis Bargaining Unit (CNU) were called.
Police said the nearly seven-hour standoff ended without incident. The man’s name has not been released.
