Kwon was quoted by the Korean Times at a press conference held on Friday in Seoul. According to Kwon, the company was considering a potential release in parallel with the launch of its 5G phone. The demand for the smartphone market is expected to be around one million, but LG's main problem in the smartphone sector is to regain its position in the market. Kwon was instructed to help save LG's mobile panoply when he was appointed late last year. At the time, the company said the boss, he said, to strengthen its entertainment division "would contribute decisively to the continued recovery of LG's mobile business." Kwon seems to think that publishing a foldable phone at a time when some of LG's competitors are gearing up the same will not necessarily be advantageous.
