LAWRENCEBURG, Ky (WTVQ) – A special march and rally in honor of those who are lost and struggle with drug addiction took place today in Lawrenceburg.
Survivor Squad is a group of recovering individuals who support individuals and families struggling with substance abuse. The Light in the Darkness Walk is their biggest event of the year. This walk is in honor of Cody Willhoite, a member of the Survivor Squad, who lost the addiction last year.
Survivor Squad President Kristen Kincaid explained what drives her organization.
“I have been recovering for 7 years. I want to save people. We have lost so many people this year alone. Many families do not know anything about drug addiction. And we just want to donate resources and give back to the community that we took, ”she said.
The march ended with a rally declaring September recovery month in Anderson County.
