Live Caption sounds pretty impressive, of course, but succeeding an exploit like this is not free – and we are talking specifically about the cost of computing. The type of processing power needed to generate real-time subtitles means that the debut of Live Caption will be limited to high-end Android models.
Brian Kemler of Google recently confirmed this limitation, noting that when Live Caption debuts later in 2019, it will only be available on phones with the right resources. .
