After Kevin Durant left the fifth game of the Warriors' NBA playoff series in the second round against the Rockets with right-sided tension, the voices of those who thought the two reigning NBA champions were vulnerable began to grow.
Faced with a bitter enemy to beat them, the Dubs have a mission to defeat James Harden and Co. by relying on their "Core Four" and a bench that was sometimes unplayable in the playoffs.
During the two days leading up to Friday night's game 6 at the Toyota Center, the discussion focused on the alleged lack of depth of the Warriors and the poor performance of Steph Curry in the series against the Rockets.
The warriors quickly silenced their skeptics. Golden State received contributions from everyone on the bench, and Curry scored 33 points in the second half to lead the Warriors to a 118-113 win that eliminated the Rockets.
After the victory, the owner of the Warriors, Joe Lacob, sent a short message to NSFW to those who doubted the crowd on the bench.
"They say we do not have a bench … it's … it's … bulls – t! You can quote me!" Lacob said, via Ethan Strauss from The Athletic.
Well said.
Contributions by Shaun Livingston, Kevon Looney, Quinn Cook, Jordan Bell and Alfonzo McKinnie kept the Warriors in the game until Curry woke up in the middle of the third quarter. And that's all she's writing for the Rockets.

While the Warriors hope to find Durant soon, they now know that they can rely on their bench if necessary. Given Durant's heavy minutes, Curry, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala and Klay Thompson played this playoff season, this is a welcome evolution for coach Steve Kerr.
An even more encouraging fact, though, was Curry's awakening in the second half and the fact that the Warriors do not have to face Harden and the Rockets until next season.
