Senators – including 11 Republicans – voted Thursday night to approve a short-term increase in the federal debt ceiling, ending a week-long standoff on Capitol Hill. Sen Lindsey Graham, RS.C., said Republicans dug a hole to “bend over” during an appearance on “Hannity“Thursday night.
THE SENATE VOTE TO LIFT THE $ 480B DEBT CEILING
Senator Lindsey Graham: “Well, we fucked up. For two months, we promised our grassroots and the American people that we would not help the Democratic Party raise the debt ceiling so that they could spend between $ 3.5 trillion and $ 5,000 billion on reconciliation. At the end of the day, we blinked. Two things happened: We let our people down, and we made Democrats believe that we are all talk and no action. In the end, every Republican voted against raising the debt ceiling, every Democrat senator voted for it. But we had a process in place.
