List of changes and fixes revealed

After releasing a beta update last week, the developers of Minecraft released another update. Update 1.17.30 is now available on all devices that are running the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft.

This update brings many changes and bug fixes to improve the player’s gaming experience. More experimental features from the upcoming 1.18 updates have also been added.


Minecraft 1.17.30 Bedrock Update

New non-experimental features

  • A new game rule, “Respawn Blocks Explode”, has been added. Players can use it to prevent anchors and respawn beds from exploding.
  • Corner mode will only detect corner blocks with the same name as the structure being recorded.

New features and experimental changes

  • Hostile mobs can now only spawn in completely dark locations. This change does not affect the skylight.
  • A new generation of biome and terrain has been introduced. It creates more natural terrains and better biome transitions.
  • Surface decoration has been improved, which detects the difference between when blocks are generated underwater and underground.
  • The naturally generated ore veins are much bigger now.
  • Generations of noodle caves have been added.
  • The possibility of naturally generating dry cave entrances was introduced.
  • A new algorithm to find a suitable spawn point near the origin has been added.
  • Added logic to save and load SubChunks by Absolute Y index to support data-driven dimension height ranges.
  • The Success button has been updated. It has also been moved from the profile screen to the main menu and pause screens.

Main fixes

  • Pasting of Unicode text in Book & Quill has been improved.
  • A crash that could occur when the player created a crafting table with gameplay hints enabled has been fixed.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur after disconnecting from the Internet while logging in as a client on iOS.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when trying to download large maps from the Minecraft Marketplace.
  • When a world is spawned with the Caves & Cliffs experimental toggle enabled, it is more likely that the player will spawn at the same default spawn point as worlds without the experience using the same seed.
  • The reappearance of bed behavior has been associated with Minecraft Java Edition.
  • Nether portals will no longer break when pieces are placed when the player leaves the Nether.
  • The enchantment probability of the enchantment table is now weighted.
  • Correct position when dismounting at negative global height has been fixed.
  • Abandoned villages generate much less.
  • Players no longer take damage when falling into scaffolding.
  • The spawn logic of the Iron Golem has been changed to match the Java Edition.
  • Fish or axolotls, when caught with a bucket, no longer immediately release them.
  • Armor stands in Minecraft now drop items when destroyed by lava or fire.
  • The maximum number of Minecraft ghosts that can spawn has been limited.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented Slime and Honey Block movement slowdown from fully applying to players.
  • Players can no longer add more candles to candles placed without any block support.
  • Shulker Boxes now drop their contents when destroyed as an item.
  • Players will no longer take fall damage after eating Chorus Fruits while soaring.
  • Diamond pickaxes that spawn in chests in Hoglin Stables are enchanted.
