NFL Power Rankings: Where Are the Chicago Bears 1-1?

[ad_1]

This version of the Chicago Bears, with rookie quarterback Justin Fields set to see some live action, is a lot more exciting domestically, but it likely won’t sway the Power Rankers after Week 2.

It’s been a while since Chicago’s offense has made anyone believe they can hang on to the best teams in the NFL, and their defense will need to stack a few good games together before analysts feel good about giving them their due. . But let’s see what the pundits think this week about the Bears 1-1.

NFL.com upped the Bears one place to 25.

The Bears can thank their defense for scoring the first victory of their season. Chicago forced four second-half turnovers against the Bengals, knocking out Joe Burrow in three straight pass attempts in a 20-17 victory. Roquan Smith had his first pick of six in his career, while Eddie Jackson forced a fumble that led to a field goal. The Bears needed those splash games to cover an offense that lost Andy Dalton to a knee injury. Dalton dodged a major disaster, and it looks like the veteran will remain the starter ahead of Justin Fields if he’s healthy enough to play. Bears fans might not like him, but Dalton seemed like the best quarterback against the Bengals.

Here’s how Yahoo Sports did it this week.

23. Chicago Bears (1-1, GA: 26)

Justin Fields looked a beat late on most of his throws. But, it was a recruit who left the bench cold. He should be much better in week 3 with a full week of training, if he takes the start.

ESPN has the Bears up to 2 spots in the 24th overall and they’re giving the Chicago fantasy football player a surprise.

Fantastic surprise: WR Darnell Mooney

Let me start by saying that outside of David Montgomery the Bears have very few viable fantastic options. However, the Bears are high on Mooney, who caught 61 passes for 631 yards as a rookie last year. Over the course of two games, Mooney was targeted 15 times. The second-year wideout was Chicago’s most productive receiver, receiving 11 receptions for 92 yards. – Jeff Dickerson

CBS Sports is keeping the Bears at 24 this week.

With Andy Dalton injured, it’s time for Justin Fields to start. He didn’t look good for Dalton against Cincinnati, which must be a concern.

Here’s how USA Today has it.

23. Bear (26): As expected, this squad doesn’t have a good enough supporting cast to make QB rookie Justin Fields wildly successful at this point. You Chicagoans owe an apology to injured Andy Dalton.

Sports Illustrated places the Bears in 25th place after 2 games.

The Bears tried to create a deliberate plan for the start of the Justin Fields era (although they wouldn’t exactly share that plan with the rest of us), then football came along, Andy Dalton’s injury forcing Fields to play an extended role against the Bengals and injecting even more chaos into the NFL’s most scrutinized QB situation. In the long run, I think it will be good to tear the bandage apart and have Fields gain some experience.

Here’s how the Sporting News has it.

22. Chicago Bear 1-1 (24)

The Bears entered the table with Andy Dalton making the most of their offense and the defense starting to live up to his reputation. They also learned that there would be a lot of lumps with Justin Fields, although he could help their offense in a number of ways and improve it over time.

The Bears are traveling to play the Cleveland Browns in Week 3, and this game will tell us a lot about this Bears team.
